Let’s do an intro, shall we?

Hi, I’m Caytlyn. I’m a full-time graphic designer, part-time product photographer, and fully incapable of taking a selfie without making the kissy face, or maybe I should say fishy face? (my husband makes fun of me constantly — and honestly, fair).

I live at a fish hatchery in the Pacific Northwest where my husband works. Hatchery wife life is pretty cool, a little weird, but I love it.

And what about Taking Notes?

Taking notes is still evolving, right now I’m sharing weekly creative notes on a variety of subjects. You’ll find photo projects, behind-the-scenes peeks at what I’m making, and the everyday mess of being a creative person trying to have more fun (and take herself a little less seriously). I love making mood boards, collecting inspiration, and sharing it all here.

This newsletter structured like a class syllabus and broken out by quarters. Every quarter I’ll share a mood board that will set the theme for the upcoming newsletters for that season. During the quarter I’ll cover a variety of creative topics, some wins, some life lessons and some things just for fun.

What’s included in a free subscription?

You’ll get two newsletters a quarter, the mood board post (think of this like the bulletin board outside the class room. You’ll also get the final R.E.P.O.R.T. Card at the end of the quarter.

Paid subscribers will get access to four newsletters per month and sometimes more depending on what I’m feeling like sharing. So you’ll have access to everything, class is in session, office hours are scheduled, and study hall is open, we can indulge in all things creative together! I have a full list of different topics I write about, you can read more about that on my first post all about freshman year of Taking Notes. I can’t cover everything all the time but these topics will rotate when it feels right to write about each one.
